FLOATS AND FEEDERS
Float come in all shapes and sizes but here is a list of what a few are used for:
AVONS-fast flowing, turbulant water. ZOOMERS-weighted for casting long distances. CRYSTAL WAGGLERS-still or slow waters. PEACOCK WAGGLERS-still or moving waters. DRIFTBEATERS-for good resistance to wind drift on still waters. DARTS-close in fishing on still waters and canals. ANTENNAS-sensitive presentation on still waters.
Feeders also come in all shapes and sizes some of the most common are:
CAGE FEEDERS-these are small wire cages which are filled with groundbait which slowly releases into the area around the hook bait
METHOD FEEDER-these are feeders where Method Mix groundbait is molded around a plastic frame before casting and the sticky mix slowly dissolves into the water or is picked off by the fish. This is now a prolific way of catching large fish using a feeder system.
OPEN/CLOSED END FEEDERS-these are plastic feeders with small round holes in which are filled with maggots before casting allowing the maggots to riggle out of the holes when on the bottom. Many of these types of feeder now come with adjustable weights screwed to the base of the feeder.
